During Mila’s childhood in Soviet Russia, she found comfort in the essence of beauty salons. Beauty Salons were a safe space where people would spend time to feel good about themselves, inside and out, regardless of what was happening around the world. Accompanying her mother to monthly hair appointments, Mila would watch in awe as the hairdresser would transform not only her mother’s hair, but also her self-esteem. Mila’s day-dreaming of creating her own two-story beauty salon started to become a reality in 1979 when she immigrated to the United States to pursue the ‘American Dream’.
Upon arriving in America, a beauty school was conveniently across the street from the apartment complex she lived in. Wasting no time, Mila ran there to enroll, all while not knowing any English. Seeing the passion in Mila, the school took a chance on her and discovered she had a true talent for cosmetology. With the tools learned in school, Mila worked for 10 years learning the ins and outs of the beauty trade. It wasn’t until 1990 while living in Minnesota when Mila opened up her first salon. After many successful years there, her family decided to move to Arizona where they reside in Cave Creek, Arizona with the two-story Salon that Mila always dreamt of as a child. Equipped with an outstanding team, Salon Mila provides an unforgettable experience to their guests.
